July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. This month was formally recognized in 2008 to bring awareness to the unique struggles that underrepresented groups face in regard to mental illness in the US. Studies suggest that racial minority groups and sexual minority groups show higher levels of anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health disorders.
We recognize that ERG leaders are passionate about creating inclusive environments within their organizations, but they are often met with overwhelming workloads and lack of resources causing burnout. In acknowledgement of this month, we are sharing best practices on how to prevent this.
This event will be presented by Maceo Owens, Community Manager of ERGs at Opentable and Kayak.
